The Jordan Hospital Club began in 1906 as a group of eight women who helped the hospital by wrapping bandages, sterilizing instruments and performing duties to aid the nursing staff. The club adopted as its mission, "Excellence in health care, right here in the community, where and when we need it, requires our support and advocacy."

Now over 100 years after its founding the JH Club numbers more than 355+/- members with an active Board of Directors and many volunteers who raise in excess of $150,000 each year and donate thousands of hours of service. In the past several years, the JH Club has raised more than a million dollars, including $550,000 for the Jordan Hospital Club Cancer Center, $215,000 for the Critical Care Center, the new Cardiovascular Center, the Nursing Scholarship Fund and The Emergency Department Teddy Bear Fund. The JH Club volunteers also support the Hospital and its patients with Christmas-time decorating, the daily Bookmobile and Craft Cart.

The Jordan Hospital Club's financial contribution to the hospital is dependent on the success of major fund-raising endeavors throughout the year:

• The Polar Plunge
• The Duxbury Lawn Party
• The Fall Fundraiser Cocktail Party
• The Annual Appeal letter
• The JH Club Gift Shop
• JH Club Membership

The JH Club Gift Shop is operated and staffed all by JH Club volunteers with all proceeds benefiting the hospital. If you would like to send a gift to a friend or family member staying at the Jordan you can always call the hospital at 508-746-2000 and ask for the Gift Shop. A volunteer will gladly take your phone order and make a delivery. A few of the products the JH Club Gift Shop carries are Fresh Flower arrangements, Camille Beckman Bath and Body, collectible Willow Tree Angels, Men's Gifts, children's books, Webkinz and stuffed animals.

Volunteers are always needed to organize and support these events and programs on an annual basis. The opportunity to co-chair or volunteer your time and talent to these events is always welcome. The JH Club Gift Shop is always looking for volunteers!
